I'm grateful to have recently met the woman who authored this book. We never suspect the lives behind new faces! I'm grateful for her honesty in writing about the horrors of her childhood, which she conveys somehow with humor and grace. This is a lovely reminder of God's grace and deliverance, but mainly about the power of giving and receiving forgiveness. I read it in one sitting, but was amazed at how much is packed in this brief book. I highly recommend keeping a copy in your home library and giving it to others, especially those who struggle with a painful past or unforgiveness. God is good.Product details

Excellent. But not for younger children. Story is violent and might frighten little ones. Also discussions of sex and adultery.

What a great read! Enjoyed it much and the messages of hope and faith are good reminders of what really matters.
As a Christian, I can appreciate the book's message of hope and victory a person who has endured violence and deprivation has found.
I met this woman on a plane and initially thought she was telling me a tall tale. The more she talked, I realized this had to be true and I had to find out the rest of the story. It never ceases to amaze me how God can conquer the darkness in our lives, no matter how pervasive. "The Light shines in the darkness, but the darkness could not comprehend it." John 15

I first heard Florence talking about her story I think on CSN Radio Network. I couldn't wait to read the book. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop and finished the book in 2 days. Her story is amazing and a total testimony of the Lord working in someones life.
This book was written very well. I know the story was true, but for the author's sake, I wish it had been fiction. It is amazing the author survived her childhood and still had compassion for her mother. A very inspiring book and I would highly recommend it.
